We produce and distribute models of foraminifera. Foraminifera (forams) are microscopic, shell-producing protozoa that have populated ancient and modern seas for hundreds of millions of years. Their tiny shells, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence, constitute the largest bulk of marine sediments on earth. As fossils, they are found in terrestrial sedimentary rocks as evidence of former marine environments.

Until recently, Foram shells could only be studied under a microscope. Now, sophisticated techniques make it possible to produce enlarged Foram Models of such accuracy that their readily distinguishable characteristics can be studied in class and laboratory settings (even by the visually impaired), and used effectively in museum displays.

Students can identify and compare Forams easily through the scrupulously accurate details provided by 40 enlarged models, each representing a different genus. The models, approximately 3 inches (7.5 cm.) in diameter, are tough, impact-resistant, solid and durable.

These models are on display in museums and aquariums, and are used by universities, high schools, and laboratories all over the world.

Original preparation of these models was done by micropaleontologist Julian Kane, who did pioneering work on Foram correlations with climate patterns and also with bay pollution.
